GD Vajra Clare J.C Nebbiolo DOC 2020

Description and Tasting Notes

The  Clare J.C is a nod to the Nebbiolo of old, with a short maceration time and whole bunch press that produces an almost rose like colour  with a slight frizzante. The aromas of crushed tart raspberries and savory herbs bounce from the glass with a structured palette that exhibits strawberry and spiced orange.

Aldo Vaira arrived back on his ancestral lands in the Langhe hills when others were leaving in their droves. The name GD Vajra has become synonymous with artisanal wines crafted at the highest level. The tradition is continued by his children Francesca and Giuseppe.

Nebbiolo is one of Italys oldest cultivars which originated in the hills of Langhe in Piemonte. It has many biotypes and is extremly site sensitive. Nebbiolo is famed for perfumed aromatics and is a light hued wine.
